Texarkana College has set a new all-time enrollment record, with more than 5,100 students enrolled for the fall semester as of September 4th.
That surpasses the previous record of 5,054 students set in 2009.
College officials say workforce programs are helping drive the growth, with enrollment increasing by more than 20 percent for the fourth consecutive year in programs including nursing, aviation, welding, construction, HVAC and automotive technology.
Dual-credit programs are also bringing more high school students to the college.
Texarkana College is continuing to enroll students for second eight-week courses, which begin October 12th.
